Interdisciplinary treatment in COPD pneumology

TARGET PUBLIC
Interdisciplinary training: pulmonologists, nurses, physiotherapists, etc.

GENERAL AND EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
• Identifying an emergency situation:
- Analysing the clinical situation: assessing and relieving distress when treating critical situations and vital emergencies
- Analysing vital signs
• Working in an interdisciplinary team:
Knowing how to manage an emergency situation in your field of expertise, while understanding the missions of the other professionals on the team and prioritising effective, constructive communication.

ORGANISATION
1 session (½ day)
Number of simulation scenarios per session: 2 scenarios
Context: Multidisciplinary treatment of patients with an infective exacerbated COPD in hospital, in intensive respiratory care. 

Group size

Replication of a team in real situations, as closely as possible to everyday practice
Per scenario:
• 1 pulmonologist
• 1 nurse
• 1 physiotherapist
• 1 facilitator per discipline in order to meet the requirements of an effective debriefing
