Surgery interns

GENERAL AND EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Obtaining the FLS at the end of the semester
(American prerequisite for performing coeliosurgery).

ORGANISATION
Variable from one individual to another.
For novices, an average of 10 hours (minimum 6 hours, maximum 14 hours).

DIRECTED SELF-TRAINING
• 1 introductory and pre-test session
This enables learners to familiarise themselves with the equipment used.
The various exercises are viewed, then carried out and marked.
• 1 midterm reinforcement session.
This enables response to questions and addition of new personalised objectives for learners who have validated the Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS).
• 1 final assessment session
This enables assessment of progress in comparison with the initial test.

Organisation of training sessions: you manage session organisation, with optimal durations of between 60 and 90 minutes. Maximum of 2 sessions a day in order to limit fatigue. Ideally, 60-minute sessions several times a week until you are able to complete the curriculum.
